Former Shawano police officer Jeff Lenzner was sworn in Monday as a special agent with the state Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigations. Lenzner, who was with the Shawano Police Department for eight years, was among 600 applicants for the job. His father, George Lenzner, is a lieutenant with the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department. “You can imagine how happy and proud I am,” George Lenzner said.

On Sept. 19, the Oconto Falls School District inducted the 52nd, 53rd and 54th members of the Oconto Falls Wall of Fame: Ron Leja, Jack Magnin and Diane Kay Messmann. The Wall of Fame honors alumni members and serves as an inspiration for today’s students.

Mary Katherine Theisen, 96, Oconto Falls, went to her eternal home on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 23, 2015, with her loving family present. She was born June 28, 1919, in Sheboygan, the youngest of five children and only girl to Jacob and Frances (Nick) Gerend. Mary grew up in Sheboygan, where she attended Holy Name Catholic Grade School before graduating from Sheboygan High School with the Class of 1937.

Joyce M. Sukowski, 77, Pound, died early Monday morning, Sept. 28, 2015, at Sharpe Care in Oconto Falls. The only child of Anthony and Clemeth (Umentum) Schuessler was born July 18, 1938, in Oconto Falls. At the age of 4 years old, Joyce moved with her parents to Milwaukee, where she attended Catholic grade and high schools, graduating from St. John’s Cathedral High School with the Class of 1956.
