Dorothy Elizabeth Schultz, 95, was reunited with her husband, Elmer, Friday, Jan. 22, 2016. She was born in Shawano on Feb. 19, 1920, to the late Hugo and Marie (Zeuske) Raddant. Dorothy was married to Elmer Schultz on May 21, 1942, in Oshkosh. She worked at Sunbeam in Milwaukee for 24 years, retiring in 1983 and returning to Shawano with her husband in 1987. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.

Kenneth “Yoze” Thunder, “Wza-wthi-gwe” Yellow Thunder, 51, of Crandon, passed away on Jan. 23, 2016, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, surrounded by his family. Ken was born on March 8, 1964, in Shawano, the son of James Thunder and Alberta Shawano. He graduated from Flandeau Indian School in South Dakota and continued his education at Nicolet Area Tech School to operate heavy equipment.

Local council members of the Wisconsin State Knights of Columbus recently kicked off ticket sales for the annual statewide charity raffle. The value of the 30 prizes to be awarded totals $115,000. Three men were charged Monday with multiple felony drug counts after a search warrant was executed at their residence in the town of Angelica last week. Joshua M. Shawano police nabbed four drunken drivers in as many hours early Sunday, including two arrested driving the same vehicle in separate incidents. According to police reports, one of the drivers taken into custody called someone to pick up her car, but the person she called had apparently also been drinking and was arrested a short time after retrieving the vehicle. Voters in the Gresham School District will be asked in April to approve borrowing more than $9 million to build a new high school and make other facility improvements.
