The administrator of the Winnebago Town of Algoma is expected to be introduced to the Oconto County Board on Feb. 22 as the recommended new county administrator.
The board’s executive committee approved a resolution Feb.
When it comes to the Oconto Falls Panthers (6-16, 2-14), things haven’t always been pretty, but they have at least been competitive in a lot of games.
That rang true against the Wrightstown Tigers (11-11, 9-7) on Feb. 13 as the Tigers entered their game riding a two-game conference winning streak. Not the same Tigers team of the past, the Panthers held their own most of the night and were within 49-44 with fewer than five minutes to go.

Plans to utilize a collection agency to get back more than $80,000 in outstanding debt from families drew mixed reviews from the Shawano School Board.
The board voted 5-3 on Feb. 12 to hire the Waukesha County Collection Division to attempt to collect five years worth of food service, technology and other fees from families.
All children ages 3-17 are invited to enter a Lego home building contest sponsored by the Wolf River Builders Association.
Those selected as the winners will receive prizes donated by Bryan Nemetz Construction and Knope Heating and Air Conditioning.

Janet C. Cota, 86, of Gillett, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024.
Janet was born on June 7, 1937, to the late Joseph and Sophie (Borowski) Zima in the town of Chase. She graduated from Pulaski High School with the class of 1954. On July 8, 1961, Janet married Thomas Cota at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Krakow.
For many years, Janet worked for the State Bank of Green Valley as a bank teller.
