April 30 Bay Conference Quad Both Shawano boys and girls track and field teams finished first in New London at a Bay Conference track meet with New London, Menasha and Green Bay West. Grace Chelberg won the 1,600-meter run and set a new school record of 5 minutes, 20.5 seconds. April 30 Shawano 13, Menasha 3 The Hawks bounced back from an earlier loss to Menasha to declare victory 13-3 at home. Shawano bookended their scoring with six runs in the first inning and seven in the fifth. Menasha scored once in the fourth and twice in the fifth. Leading hitters were Crew Weisnicht, who went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, Carsen Herm hit 2-for-4, and Tom Keszo was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

April 30 Rosholt 4, Tigerton 3 Rosholt scored a game-winning run in the top of the seventh to defeat Tigerton 4-3 at Tiger Stadium. Rosholt held a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Tigerton tied the game in the fourth inning and took a 2-1 lead in the fifth. Rosholt went back up 3-2 in the sixth only to have Tigerton tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Angel Welch hit 2-for-3 for the Tigers.

April 30 Fox Valley Lutheran 4, Shawano 3 George Buerman and Tristan Sheldon improved to 9-1 and are one game out of first place in the Bay Conference No. 1 doubles flight. They defeated Fox Valley Lutheran’s Jack Breiland and Morton Harlfinger 6-1, 6-0. In the 4-3 loss, Shawano also recorded wins from No. 3 singles player Cristian Hernandez and No.

April 30 Peshtigo 3, Shawano 0 The 3-0 loss to Peshtigo was a tough loss for the Hawks, as they dropped to 2-10 on the year. “They battled hard, but struggled to finish in the final third,” coach Emily Stepanek said. Goalkeeper Brynlie Boyles had nine saves. Bay Port 2, Pulaski 1 The Red Raiders’ five-game winning streak came to an end with a 1-0 loss to Bay Port. Veronica Decker scored Pulaski’s lone goal, one of five shots she had in the game.
