The Oconto County Board on Dec. 19 shifted $53,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to cover change orders and cost increases at the recently completed Riverview Community Center and Northern County Offices project. A pair of Wittenberg Area Swim Program competitors qualified for the 2024 Wisconsin Single Age Sprint State Championships while swimming Dec. 14-15 in Mount Pleasant. There were 38 swim teams from all over Wisconsin, with 803 individual swimmers.

Karen Lutz, 81, Oconto Falls, died suddenly Saturday morning, Dec. 21, 2024, at St. Clare Hospital. She was born Jan. 16, 1943, in Spruce to Fred and Lillian (Knedlhans) Rabas. Karen was raised on a dairy farm in Spruce where she learned early in life the value of hard work, commitment and family.
