Deal on table in Bowman arson case

A deal is on the table for Amanda Bowman, but the decision to accept it will wait for a couple of months as her new attorney reviews the case and conducts an investigation. Tara Teesch is taking over as counsel for Bowman, a Bowler woman who stands accused of arson, attempted first-degree intentional homicide and six counts of felony bail jumping. Teesch is replacing Elisabeth Stockbridge.

Patricia A. (Hintz) Stroik, 90, of Galloway, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at 6:11 p.m. at Marshfield-Medical Center in Weston, surrounded by family. Pat was born on Jan. 8, 1934, in Galloway, Town of Franzen, to John and Bernice (Schultz) Hintz. She was raised on a farm between Shanty Town and Bevent.
‘Unnatural Intent’ takes on environmental intrigue
The prologue of “Unnatural Intent” by Brooke L. French was enough to get me hooked. October 12, 2018, is a cold, sunny day in Katmai National Park, Alaska. Three young men went to meet their plane and return to civilization. Before they fully comprehend what is happening, two enormous polar bears savagely attack. The float plane scares the bears off, leaving one badly wounded man to relate the incident. Bears this far south is disturbing.

Judge Jay Conley on Oct. 23 had found her not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect of second-degree recklessly endangering safety in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 17, 2023. Shawano girls wrestle to ninth place
Jan. 10 Stevens Point Invite Shawano’s girls won three duals and lost one as it placed ninth at the Stevens Point Invitational. The Hawks opened the event with a 44-18 loss to Neenah. They then defeated Holmen Silver 48-10 and Pulaski 36-30.

Jan. 9 Shawano 75, Antigo 28 The Hawks opened up a big lead early and never looked as they crushed the Red Robins 75-28 in non-conference action.
Panthers win from behind
Jan. 9 Oconto Falls 66, Denmark 57 Jameson Beaman poured in 29 points, and J.J. Pytleski added another 21 as Oconto Falls came back from a halftime deficit to beat Denmark 66-57. Beaman sunk seven 3-pointers. He was one of three players, along with Evan Yuma and Chase Carriveau, to have eight rebounds for the Panthers.
