Charles B. “Bony” Bonikowske, 63, Ogdensburg, died on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, in a single-vehicle accident due to a blown tire on a motorcycle trailer, east of Keystone, Iowa. He was born on Sept. 11, 1950, in Iola, son of Kenneth Sr. and Isabella (Heald) Bonikowske.
Chuck owned and operated Bonikowske Salvage yard in Helvetia. He enjoyed flying, motorcycling and fishing. He liked to build and invent things, including motorcycles.
He is survived by his mother, Isabella; four sons, Bryan, Manawa, Scott, Janesville, Chad, New London, and Kris, River Falls; goddaughter, Angela Bowden, New London; stepson, Tommy, Kansas City; sister, Diane (Mark) Civik, Iola; and a brother, David (Marian) Bonikowske, Illinois. He is further survived by seven grandchildren, one grandchild of the heart, one great-grandchild, and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Sr., and a brother, Kenneth Jr.
Funeral services for Chuck will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Manawa, with the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home, Manawa, and also at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Ogdensburg Park Cemetery, Ogdensburg.
