To the editor:
On behalf of Shawano Community High School, I would like to thank the Shawano Athletic Booster Club for their support of Shawano athletics.
Since its inception, the booster club has provided support to all Shawano sports programs, having donated over $500,000 to Shawano athletics. It goes without saying that the booster club is very generous and all inclusive in their support of Shawano athletics. Any coach or group in the community is able to make a request for assistance. This year alone, they have purchased warm-ups for the softball and hockey teams, sponsored banquets and purchased equipment for various other teams.
The booster club also supports Shawano youth sports such as baseball, softball, football and hockey. They have assisted in improving baseball and softball diamonds, press boxes, and in purchasing batting cages. The club has also purchased a new popcorn maker and lockers at the Crawford Center for the hockey association.
We are lucky to have such a dedicated group working to provide the best opportunities for the youth of Shawano.
I would also ask that if you are able, please become a member of the booster club or assist in their fundraising efforts. The booster club is currently preparing for one of their major fundraisers, The Jamboree, which will be held at The Gathering on April 11. Please consider assisting the club by attending or donating to this and other positive events held by the Shawano Booster Club.
The athletes in Shawano will benefit greatly from your support. Go Hawks!
