Paul Diers

Paul Diers, 49, Birnamwood, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at his home. He was born on Nov. 4, 1965, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Robert and Glarus (Tourtillotte) Diers. Paul worked at North Central Health Care Center in Wausau for a number of years. He also worked as a bartender at numerous places, including Sunset Grill and Wisconsin House Inn in Shawano. Paul enjoyed fishing, reading, shooting pool and spending time with friends. He was also a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching Saturday Night Live. Survivors include his daughter, Maya Diers-Thomson; three sisters, Carol (Kevin) Spiegel, Belleville, Theresa (Harry Colcord) Diers, Wausau, and Delores (Kurt Buttke) Diers, Wausau; nieces and nephew, Alora and Charley Spiegel and Edie Buttke; special godchild, Alysse Corn, Keshena; and friend, Kim Thomson, De Pere. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and other relatives. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a special friend, Laurie Hightower.
