Hillside Assembly of God Church in Gillett will begin a new year of adult, youth and children’s programs on Wednesday evenings, beginning with an open house at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10. Prizes, hot dogs and ice cream will be provided.
Royal Rangers is a boys program for ages 3-11. Boys learn lessons from the Bible with a variety of themes, including camping, sports, lifesaving and first aid.
Mpact Girls Clubs is for girls ages 3-11 and teaches lessons from the Bible with various themes, including fitness, attitude, peer pressure, family, accountability and self-esteem. There are also fun activities with each lesson.
Both groups can earn rewards and have opportunities for extra-curricular activities.
The Hillside youth group, Ignite Student Ministries, meets Wednesday nights and includes an opportunity to make friends, hear messages from the Bible, sing contemporary Christian music with the youth band and have fun with other teens.
A group for middle school students features interactive discussion and high-energy activities. Teens will have opportunities to build healthy relations with others through small-group interaction.
A Fifth Quarter event will be held Oct. 10 in the Hillside gym following the homecoming football game. All teens are welcome.
A Bible study for adults is called “Faith Commander: Living Five Values from the Parables of Jesus,” by Chrys Howard and Korie Robertson. Men and women will be a combined class, discovering insights from the “Duck Dynasty” family.
These Wednesday activities meet from 6:45-8 p.m. starting Sept. 17. Visitors are welcome. Transportation from Oconto Falls, Pulcifer, Cecil and Gillett can be arranged by calling the church office at 920-855-2962. The church is located at 5890 state Highway 22, Gillett.
