The Machickanee Players will delve into the world of an accused ax murderer in its next production, “Lizzie Borden of Fall River.”
This drama, directed by first-time director Heidi Reed and assisted by Shelly Mocco, will keep the audience guessing up until the final scene. Did she dispatch her father and stepmother with an ax, or was she the innocent victim of circumstances? Why was evidence withheld? Who is lying, and who is telling the truth?
The production contains no graphic scenes of violence.
Dinner shows will be performed at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, and Saturday, Feb. 21. The cost is $25, and reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance.
Walk-in tickets for the production only will be sold from 6:45-7 p.m. Tickets are $14 and are subject to seating availability.
Shows will also be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb, 13, and Friday, Feb. 20, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22. Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door.
A dessert show will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, when pie will be served before the show. The cost is $17 in advance and $19 at the door.
All productions are staged at the Park Avenue Playhouse, 408 Park Ave., Oconto.
