Walter Schaal

Walter “Fuzz” Schaal, 77, Stiles, died suddenly Monday evening, Feb. 16, 2015, at St. Clare Memorial Hospital. He was born April 15, 1937, in Oconto Falls to Chester and Beatrice (Spice) Schaal. Fuzz attended Oconto Falls public schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1957. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-1965 and was stationed in Germany. On July 11, 1980, he married Susan Potasnik in Marinette. Fuzz lived in the Oconto Falls area most of his life. He was employed by the Scott Paper Co. until retiring in 1994. Over the years, he enjoyed cooking, hosting family events and spending time at the family cabin. Survivors are his wife of 34 years, Sue Schaal, Stiles; three children, Jessie (Dean) Schad, Green Bay, Justina “Dood” (Anthony) Hendricks, Oconto Falls, Justin “Rowdy” Schaal, Abrams; five grandchildren, Mitchell Vanderpoel, Reece and Natalee “Bug” Schad, A.J. and Gibson Hendricks; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara (Richard) Warzinski, Milwaukee, Gary (Shirley) Potasnik, New Mexico; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters. Private family services were held, and burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls is serving the Schaal family.
