Fairest of Fair contest seeks applicants

The 2015 Senior and Junior Fairest of the Fair will be selected April 11 at Oconto Falls High School. To be eligible for the Oconto County Senior Fairest of the Fair, a contestant must be a resident of Oconto County and 18 years old as of Jan. 1, 2016. To be eligible for the Junior Fairest of the Fair, a contestant must be a resident of Oconto County and 11-13 years old as of April 11, 2015. Junior and Senior Fairest contestants are required to submit an entry form, sponsorship and essay by March 1. Applications and essays will be reviewed by judges the day of the competition. Contestants for both competitions will participate in individual and group interviews, present introduction and event announcements, and answer impromptu questions before a panel of judges. The Senior and Junior Fairests of the Fair work together to promote the Oconto County Fair throughout the year by attending community events. Participants have the opportunity to develop public speaking, interviewing and marketing skills.
