Lehto joins state FFA Alumni council

Candie Lehto, a member of the Oconto Falls FFA Alumni affiliate, was seated on the Wisconsin FFA Alumni Association Council representing Section 8 at the conclusion of the organization’s annual meeting and convention Feb. 7 in Stevens Point. Section 8 includes Alumni affiliates supporting agriculture education and FFA programs in northeastern Wisconsin. Lehto, who retired as director of curriculum and assistant superintendent of the Oconto Falls School District in summer 2014, was elected by Section 8 affiliate representatives in October to a two-year term on the state council. She succeeds Amy Zernicke, of Bonduel, who reached the term limit having served on the council for six years. Art Plaster, of Tigerton, continues as the second Section 8 representative on the council. Sectional representatives on the state Alumni council serve as liaisons between the affiliates in their section and the state organization to promote membership in the FFA Alumni and projects and programs that support local agriculture education and FFA programs. The state council is also the governing body for the Wisconsin FFA Alumni Association.
