Concordia University Wisconsin officials have announced the 2026 spring semester president’s list, which is composed of full-time undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of 12 combined undergraduate and graduate credits in a 16-week semester and have a minimum GPA of 3.75 or better.

Wisconsin oats reported 83% harvested

Wisconsin had 5.7 days suitable for fieldwork statewide for the week ending Aug. 23, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Dry conditions continued to affect crops, especially in northwestern portions of the state. Snap beans were being harvested, and some farmers started on their fourth cutting of hay.

Topsoil moisture condition rated 14% very short, 27% short, 58% adequate and 1% surplus.

Anderson resigns from Shawano County Board

Shawano County Board Supervisor Charles Anderson resigned his post Aug. 18.

In his resignation letter, Anderson wrote, “As of this date for health issues I hereby resign the position of county supervisor.”

Anderson was elected to represent District 5 in April with four write-in votes.

Shawano-Menominee Court News

• Mequan Corn, 48, Keshena, pleaded no contest Feb. 24 to failure to report to county jail. Judge Katherine Sloma sentenced him Aug. 17 to 126 days in county jail, time deemed served.

Oconto County Court News

• Steven M. Ducat, 39, Oconto, pleaded guilty Aug. 17 to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fifth offense) and a misdemeanor charge of operating while revoked. Judge Hannah Schuchart sentenced him to four years in prison followed by four years of extended supervision with conditions including license revocation for two years and three years requiring ignition interlock devices on his vehicles.
