Lois Jean “Roz” Rosnow Rupple, 86, of Santa Rosa, California, and Shawano, passed away on Jan. 9, 2015, in Santa Rosa.
Roz was born on Dec. 5, 1928, the daughter of the late Arthur and Dolores (Samp) Rosnow. She graduated from Shawano High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
Roz was united in marriage to John Rupple on Jan. 13, 1999, in Santa Rosa. She was a stewardess for United Airlines and ran an automobile leasing company.
Roz was involved with AWVS – American Women’s Voluntary Service, Pals for Palsy, Clipped Wings – United Airlines for mentally handicapped children and adults, and was a member of both St. Martin Catholic Church in Cecil and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano.
Roz loved playing bridge with the ladies, golfing, hosting dinner parties for friends and traveling.
Roz is survived by her husband, John; nieces, Terri (Charles) Bridges, of Sacramento, California, and Jan Rosnow, of Oklahoma; nephew, William (Kathy) Rosnow, of Green Bay; stepdaughters, Beth Rupple and Lisa (Brad) Muller; stepson, Paul (Andrea) Rupple; eight stepgrandchildren; and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jerry Rosnow, and three stepsons, Jeffrey, John and Mark Rupple.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Entombment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
