An area basketball player represented his high school March 22 at the 3-Point Challenge at the WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament in Madison.
Menominee Nation senior Mikey Chapman attended the competition, which included nine other players in five divisions, but did not place in the top three.
Pewaukee’s Karson Osterman ended up winning the challenge, while D.C. Everest’s Cade Felch and Roncalli’s Matthew Bonin placed second and third, respectively.
Other competitors included Jake Pfister, Catholic Memorial; Elijah Fenner, Ashwaubenon; Tyler Roche, Greendale; Will Franzen, Manitowoc Lutheran; Brayden Smith, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah; and Logan Nystrom, Assumption.
The girls 3-Point Challenge, held March 15 during the girls tournament at the Resch Center in Green Bay, also included a local player.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood junior Melania Granquist placed third in that competition, which also included Lauren Strifling, Homestead; Kristina Ouimette, Lakeland; Sydney Subke, Neillsville; Toria Devoe, Belleville; Ellen Dotzler, Waunakee; Mandi Wehrle, River Ridge; Armani Tauschek, Greenfield; Abby Hollis, Albany/Monticello; and Marti Rebman, Edgerton.
