Cecil gets 10-inning Dairyland win over Nichols

June 15 Cecil 8, Nichols 7 (10 inn.) Ken Casper’s run-scoring single in the bottom of the 10th inning broke a 7-7 tie and gave the Mudhens a home win over the Nitros. Cecil opened the scoring in the bottom of the first on an RBI single from Noah Beilfuss. Nichols took a 3-2 lead in the fourth, but the Mudhens regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning. Nichols tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth inning as Justin Krull stole home, but a Nitros error led to the Mudhens taking a 5-4 lead in the sixth. The Nitros tied the game again at 5-5 in the seventh, but Brodie Hartmann’s RBI double in the bottom of the eighth and Reese Stoltenow’s single gave Cecil a two-run advantage. The Nitros tied the game at 7-7 with a pair of runs in the top of the ninth before Casper came up with the game-winning hit in the next inning. Relief pitcher Jack Acdar picked up the win on the mound, and Jonny Pinter took the loss for Nichols. The teams combined for 33 hits in the game, including 19 from Cecil and 14 from Nichols. Pulaski 9, Shawano 8 The Reds trailed heading into the eighth inning, but came back to get a win over the Lobos. Austin Hendricks picked up the win on the mound. Waupaca 5, Hofa Park 0 Brenden Canterbury’s three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning helped the Lakemen defeat the Panthers. Winning pitcher Cam Seidl held Hofa Park scoreless over five innings and finished with 12 strikeouts. Brett Ellestad allowed two runs over seven innings and took the loss on the mound. Canterbury finished with four RBIs, and Alex Pankratz had two of Waupaca’s nine hits. Hortonville at Bonduel No results available. Marinette at Navarino No results available. June 13 Bonduel 8, Cecil 2 The Broncos had 12 hits in a win over the Mudhens. Easton Reinke led the way for Bonduel with three hits, while Chase Reinke, Barret Bohm and Cade Johnson chipped in with two each. Chase Reinke held Cecil to two runs and struck out seven batters to get the win on the mound. Ken Kasper and Noah Beilfuss each had two of the Mudhens’ seven hits. Hofa Park 3, Pulaski 2 Hofa Park handed the Reds a one-run loss. Waupaca at Hortonville No results available. Marinette at Shawano Game postponed.
