Gladys Pleshek, 101, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025.
She was born in Gresham on March 21, 1924, to the late William and Lena (Neumeier) Otto. On Nov. 9, 1946, she married Joseph Pleshek; he preceded her in death Oct. 28, 2016. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gladys was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega.
She worked at the Shawano County Rationing Board Office. She later worked for the Weyauwega High School hot lunch program. She also worked at St. Vincent de Paul for 17 years.
She will be missed by her daughters, Ronda Woltersdorf (Don Berra), Mary Jo (Perry) Pleshek-Stone, Marsha (Mark) Gerlach; grandchildren, Tracy Stout, Kelly (Jason) Stephenson, Krista (Al) Olson and Ryan Lubinski; great-grandchildren, Taylor Martin (Jake Zwerg), Mya Olson and Lucas Olson, Alex (Bitty) Stephenson and Zach Stephenson, Tashaina Stout and Carmen Lubinski (Alex Allhands); great-great-grandchildren, Alex and Nour Stout, and Silas Allhands; plus other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Vern, Hilary, Leo and Lloyd; and sisters, Katherine, Loretta and Lucille.
The family sends our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King for the wonderful care of our mom, Gladys. Also, a big thank you to Brook and staff at Heartland Hospice for their loving care and professionalism.
The memorial service will be Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, N2620 State Highway 22, Waupaca. The visitation will be on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.
