Edna Dea Knight

Edna Dea Knight died peacefully at Vista Mesa Assisted Living Residence in Cortez, Colorado, on Friday, July 25, 2014. She was born the daughter of Cy and Mattie (Kirkland) Jones in Hughes County, Oklahoma, on Feb. 13, 1928. Edna will be greatly missed for her great capacity for love, her unshakable faith in God and her infectious sunny disposition. Her loving care for all around her will be long cherished. Edna loved being a wife and mother, and particularly loved sewing clothes, gifts and treasures for friends and family. One of 10 children, Edna is survived by her son, Mika Phillips, daughter-in-law, Judith Swain, of Dolores, Colorado; son-in-law, Roman Wunrow, of Cecil; sisters, Mary Jo Davis, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Sharon Admire, of Nacona, Texas; niece, Wanda Aultman, of Lexington, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Kim and Sam Phillips; and two special friends, Doris Priem and Joe Brown, of Shawano. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Maxie Knight; two sons, Thomas Phillips and Johnnie Knight; her daughter, Golda Wunrow; two granddaughters, Christie and Cathy Wunrow; brothers, Howard, Wayne and Cecil Jones, Jimmy, Willie and Richard Gregg, and Donald Baker. Cremation has occurred, and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where she will be buried in the family plot.
