Cameron AD Wagner, affectionately known as Cam or Hambone, of Lena, passed away March 19, 2026, at the age of 13. Though his time with us was short – he was born April 28, 2012 – Cam lived a full and compassionate life, touching the hearts of everyone who knew him.
From a young age, Cam’s engaging smile and dynamic personality lit up every room he entered. His natural ability to connect with people of all ages quickly turned strangers into lifelong friends, as he never forgot the details of how they met or the bond they shared. His kindness, compassion and genuine interest in others made everyone around him feel special, loved and heard.
Cam’s giving spirit was evident in his many acts of volunteerism. Whether feeding calves at Schaal’s farm, working at Green Valley Dairy, plowing and shoveling snow, cutting grass, picking rocks, ushering at church or simply lending a hand to neighbors, Cam’s willingness to help was endless.
His curiosity and mechanical skills flourished as he worked in the shop on his and his family’s equipment, often inspired by the treasures he and Pat Sager discovered on their weekly trips around Kelly Lake.
A lover of sports and the outdoors, Cam was actively involved in football, wrestling, track and field (discus), trap shooting, FFA and 4-H. He enjoyed attending track camp in Green Bay, indulging at Culver’s afterward. Wherever he could learn new wrestling skills, he attended camps throughout the year.
Beyond school, Cam’s passions included farming, working at the feed mill, hunting and fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, raising cattle for the fair, making maple syrup, attending Dirt City races and participating in family deer camp — where his new card-playing skills quickly became a favorite pastime. One of his favorite weeks of the year was when he was camping and showing his cattle at the Oconto County Fair. Cam treasured spending time with his friends, whether in person or chatting through his headset.
All of Cameron’s passions revolved around being with people he loved. There were so many special people in his life and too many to mention them all, but some of these special people in Cameron’s life include: Rosie Flynn, Schaal families, Olson families, Gerndt families, Pat and Gene Sager, the Green Valley crew, and all his buddies at Suring, Gillett and Lena schools.
Cameron is survived by his loving parents, Shaun and Monica Wagner; sisters, Ryann, Megan and Addison Wagner; maternal grandmother, Cathy Huberty; uncles, Edward and Paul (Patty) Huberty; aunts, Mary Kay Orr and Margie (Jimmer) Daul; his numerous cousins whom he loved; and his godparents, Cory and Jodi Marquardt.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, David Wagner and Art Huberty; grandmother, Marsha Brock; and uncle, Andy Huberty.
In lieu of flowers, donations will go into a fund that will support the clubs and sports Cameron was passionate about including trapshooting, football, wrestling, track and field, tractor safety, FFA, 4-H and the Oconto County Youth Fair. Though he left us far too soon, Cameron’s spirit, warmth and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends and community. Cameron made a difference to everyone he touched.
