Menominee Nation’s Waupoose leads all runners at Symco

Menominee Nation’s boys placed second among three teams and the girls were fourth among five competing at Symco.

Bryant Waupoose led all runners with a time of 17:54.6, followed by Ryan Corn at 18:46.8.

Michael Peters III was 14th in 20:50.6, followed by Cashius Reevis in 15th in 20:55.4 and Christopher Waubanascum in 16th in 22:05.9.

Seymour won the top spot again, this time at the Shawano Lake Golf Course.

Seymour scored a 188, followed by Shawano with 203, Bonduel with 229, Oconto at 240 and Sturgeon Bay at 241.

Lauren Seehafer led the Hawks with a 46. She was joined by Madelyn Moesch at 51, Hailey Hawkinson at 52 and Gwyn Hermann at 54.

Pulaski, GB Preble battle to soccer game tie

Pulaski and Green Bay Preble opened Fox River Classic Conference play with a 1-1 draw.

The Hornets struck first on a Joe Rivas goal with nine seconds left in the first half. In the 74th minute, the Red Raiders found the equalizer when AJ Schenk fired a shot just outside the 18 that buried in the top corner of the Preble goal.

Pulaski crushes Green Bay Southwest on tennis courts

Pulaski shut out Green Bay Southwest 7-0, with Green Bay losing twice by default and winning zero games on the night.

Cruising to wins in the singles flight were Ruth Krause at No. 1, Anna Krause at No. 2, Emory Groteluschen at No. 3 and Elizabeth Dornfeld by default at No. 4.

Red Raiders run over Redbirds

The passing game wasn’t exactly clicking for the Pulaski football team in its Fox Valley Classic Conference-North opener with De Pere.

The rushing game was a different story, however, as three different running backs combined for all but six of the Red Raiders’ 308 yards on the ground Sept. 5 in a 28-10 win over the Redbirds at Saputo Stadium.

Oconto Falls edges Crivitz in Northwoods opener

Oconto Falls’ football team opened Northwoods Conference play Sept. 5 with a 20-16 home win over Crivitz.

Meanwhile, Bonduel and Lena/STAA also picked up wins over Southern Door and Green Bay NEW Lutheran, respectively.

The Panthers led 14-0 at halftime after finding the end zone in the first two quarters.

Pulaski runners pace area competitors at UWGB

Pulaski’s Maggie Gerth placed sixth and teammate Emerson Fabry was seventh among female cross country runners at the De Pere Invitational at UW-Green Bay on Sept. 4.

Emma Meissner, of Oconto Falls, placed 17th, while Shawano’s Bailey Hendricks was 26th.

Addie Bruckert, of Pulaksi, ran to a 32nd place finish, and teammate Cameran Reiss was 44th.

Lily Meissner, of Oconto Falls, was 50th.
