Two high school and 12 middle school students of the Oconto Falls FFA Chapter attended the Wisconsin Association of FFA FIRE Conference and were awarded the Spirit Award on Oct. 15 at the Fox Valley Technical College Campus in Appleton. FIRE stands for “Foundations in Reaching Excellence.” The conference helps young FFA members discover opportunities in the FFA organization and gain valuable leadership skills.

The Quilting Friends of Hatley was formed in 2008 by a few ladies in the Hatley area. Members of this group come from Hatley, Bevent, Elderon, Wittenberg, Birnamwood and Antigo areas.

Terry Lorge, FWD Museum director, talked about the fascinating history of the Four Wheel Drive Seagrave Company during a tour of the museum in Clintonville during Nu Chapter’s October meeting. Brothers-in-law William Besserdich and Otto Zachow, along with Walter Olen, established the Badger Four Wheel Drive Auto Company in 1909.
