Four Lena High School students were recognized at the annual school awards ceremony for signing college letters of intent to play sports at their respective universities in the fall. With their parents behind them, the students are, from left, Zander Thomson, UW-Stout, track; Max Peterson, UW-Stout, football; Colt Miller, UW-Stevens Point, football; and Taylor Whiting, University of Iowa, girls wrestling.

Several Shawano Community High School students were named to Bay Conference all-conference teams, including tennis and track athletes with first-team awards.

For boys track, first team honors went to the 4x200-meter relay team of Joseph Kleinschmidt, Bryce Lammers, Aiden Rasmussen and Heriberto Rubio, all seniors.

Ten hits by the Papermakers and three errors by the Red Raiders combined for a loss in the regional title game for Pulaski.

Eli Heuser hit 3-for-4 with a double and run scored. Gavin Sikorski was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Eddie Van Roy collected two RBIs and a double.

New Holstein 9, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 2

The Huskies outhit the Chargers 13-5 in winning the regional title.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood scored a run in each of the fifth and sixth innings, but by then, New Holstein already had its nine runs.

Seymour 4, Shawano 0

The Hawks were shut out 4-0 by the Thunder in the Division 3 regional semifinal.

Shawano ends the season at 9-10-1.

Shawano senior Enrique Omella Valls’ trip to the state tennis meet was short lived, as he lost by forfeit 2-0, 2-0 to Aquinas’ Teagan Scott on June 4.

Omella Valls went into Division 2 tournament play with a 16-4 mark. Scott, also a senior, was 21-4.
