Bonduel earns third straight conference crown

Bonduel clinched their third straight CWC-East conference championship with a 74-65 win over Amherst.

Carter Moesch led Bonduel with 23 points, with Ryan Westrich scoring 20 and Quinn Wesenberg adding 18.

The Bears improved to 12-0 in the conference and 19-3 overall.

Storm boys hockey team wins regional title

Lakeland 3, Shawano/Bonduel 2 (2OT)

Shawano/Bonduel’s boys hockey team saw their season end with a heartbreaking double overtime loss to Lakeland.

With time running out in regulation, Quinten Harkey scored at 16:14 with help from Blake Swedberg to bring the fifth-seeded Hawks into a 2-2 tie and forcing overtime in the WIAA regional finals.

Bonduel boys add to win total in Pulaski

A short road trip led to another win for the Bonduel boys basketball team.

The Bears headed down state Highway 29 on Feb. 17 and returned home with a 56-39 win over Pulaski.

Although the win didn’t count in the Central Wisconsin Conference-East standings, it will help the Bears’ cause when it comes to seeding for the upcoming WIAA state tournament, according to coach Duke Copp.

Shawano boys lose to New London

New London 92, Shawano 54

The Hawks were roughed up by the Bulldogs in a 92-54 Bay Conference loss.

Shawano is 2-12 in the conference and 6-15 overall.

Tigerton 77, Suring 55

Tigerton improved to 22-0 overall with a 77-55 win over Suring in nonconference action.

Panther girls lose to Little Chute

Little Chute 61, Oconto Falls 49

The Mustangs led from the start, held a 26-19 lead at the half and went on to defeat Oconto Falls 61-49 in a North Eastern Conference game.

The Panthers dropped to 6-9 in the NEC and 9-14 overall.

Seven Panthers earn all conference wrestling awards

Six boys and one girl from the Oconto Falls High School wrestling programs were awarded with North Eastern Conference all-conference honors.

Freshman Logan Bozile was a unanimous selection for the boys first team.

Earning second-team honors were sophomore Jack Falkowski and juniors Levi Mommaerts, Isaiah Holz and Jagger Reed.

Senior Ethan Zelinski was named honorable mention.

Storm shuts out Appleton United to open playoffs

Bay Area 12, Appleton United 0

The sixth-seeded Storm was fierce as Bay Area shut out 11th-seeded Appleton United 12-0 in the opening round of WIAA boys hockey regional play.

Storm players are from several area schools, including Bay Port, Ashwaubenon, Pulaski, Seymour and Wrightstown. They improved to 10-12-1 with the playoff win.
