Walter W. Erdmann, 62, of Marinette, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014.
Walter was born in Shawano on May 9, 1952, to the late Roy and Elaine (Hopper) Erdmann. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1970. Walter enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam. Walter enjoyed his visits with the veterans and playing cards with them, many times bringing his dog, Candy, with him. Walter’s favorite things were playing horseshoes, shooting pool, playing cribbage and having big campfires. Walter was also a Packers, Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Walter is survived by: his children, Cassie (Mark) Erdmann, Derek (Devan) Erdmann, Kerri (Tony) Erdmann; grandchildren, Darcie, Desirae, Silica, Larry, Scott, Nastacia, Shaka, Scott and Brianna; great-grandchildren; sisters, Cherie (Ward) Peterson, Lynette (Ken) Mueller, Suzette (Rene) LeBlanc and Kathleen Daly; brothers, Ronald (Vivian) Erdmann, Philip (Carol) Erdmann, Keith (Elvita) Erdmann.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Allen, and his sister, Annette.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the church by Shawano American Legion Post 117. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
