Townsend church announces Holy Week schedule

St. John Lutheran Church, Townsend, invites the community to its Holy Week services. Palm Sunday Services are scheduled at 5:30 p.m March 28 and 9 a.m. March 29, with the theme “Receive Love” and the parable of the lost sheep (Luke 15:7). Each person will receive a blessed palm to take home. Maundy Thursday will be celebrated at 7 p.m. April 2 with Holy Communion. The theme, “Receive the Meal,” is based on the parable of the great banquet (Luke 14:22). Good Friday services are at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. April 3. “Receive the Sacrifice” is the theme for Good Friday, based on the parable of the landowner and the tenants (Matthew 21:38-39). There is no Saturday evening service scheduled. Easter Sunday services are at 7 and 10 a.m. April 5. “Receive Eternal Life” is the theme. The Easter festival service will be based on the parable of the wise and foolish builders (Matthew 7:24). An Easter breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. Weekend worship at St. John in Townsend is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. Coffee, fellowship and Bible study follow the Sunday service. All are welcome.
