Team serves brunch for families

The Lena High School girls volleyball team, Coach Heidi Place and some of the girls’ parents prepared and served a brunch for residents on Saturday, Jan. 9, at Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa. It was their way to help residents at the facility related to children being treated at Children’s Hospital and nearby hospitals. The volunteers wore their “I’m on Kyle’s Team” shirts and served the brunch in the memory of Kyle Hodkiewicz, of Lena. Kyle and his family utilized Ronald McDonald House from February 2015 until Kyle’s death Sept. 19, 2015, at Children’s Hospital. Kyle died at age 10 after battling leukemia for more than two years.
