Five students from Gillett High School were honored guests at the annual Marinette & Oconto Conference honors banquet April 7 at Romy’s Holiday Inn in Kelly Lake.
Organized and sponsored by the M&O Conference principals, the program was first held in the spring of 1982. Its purpose is to recognize the academic excellence of the top seniors from each of the conference’s nine schools.
Gillett students honored this year were Nicole Rotter, Lisa Schmidt, Danielle Timm, Andrea Wians and Derek Zahn.
Guests included parents of the honored seniors, senior class advisers and district administrators.
David Collins, retiring M&O conference commissioner, was the featured speaker. He shared the wisdom he had developed over his 50 years of service to the conference.
