The Shawano Police Department is investigating the death of a 2-year-old child that occurred within the city July 5.
“Due to the nature of the incident and the age of the child, we are treating the death as suspicious, which is standard protocol,” Chief Mike Musolff said. “It is the policy of the Shawano Police Department to thoroughly investigate any death involving a child to ensure all concerns are fully addressed and the facts are clearly understood.”
At this time, no further details are being released to preserve the integrity of the investigation and out of respect for those involved, Musolff said.
