Salvation Army needs bell ringers, donations

The Salvation Army of Shawano County is in need of volunteers to ring bells during the Red Kettle Campaign, which runs through Dec. 24. Bell ringers are needed at Charlie’s County Market, Pick ‘N Save, Qualheim’s True Value and Wal-Mart. Ringing takes place on Friday and Saturday during the season. A special bell-ringing effort will take place Dec. 11 and 12. Thrivent of Eastern Shawano County will match all donations made to the kettles that weekend up to $3,420. Area residents are asked to consider making their donation that weekend. Checks can be made payable to the Salvation Army of Shawano County, or note for Shawano County in the memo line, to ensure your donation is attributed to Shawano. All donations made in Shawano County stay in the community to help families in need with financial assistance such as rent, utility bills, transportation needs, medical bills, etc. Individuals meet with a representative of Salvation Army to discuss their options. Residents interested in ringing bells or making a donation should call Mike at 715-701-3045. If you need assistance, call 715-526-5105.
