Robert H. Koehler

Robert H. Koehler, 90, formerly of Andover, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, at Mercer Manor, Aledo, Illinois. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, Illinois, with visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to services at the church. Interment with military honors will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Robert was born April 24, 1934, in Underhill, to Herman E. and Etta (Dittman) Koehler. He graduated from Shawano High School, Shawano. He married Shirley M. Peterman on April 30, 1955, in Bonduel. She preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 2014. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was an electrical technician for John Deere Technical Center, Moline, for 20 and 1/2 years. Robert was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, and the Rivoli Gun Club, New Windsor, Illinois. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and going to their softball and baseball games as often as possible. Family meant the world to him. Surviving are his daughter, Lori (Jeff) Fones, Galesburg, Illinois; son, Mark (Staci) Koehler, Sherrard, Illinois; grandchildren, April (Ryan) Senica, Huntley, Illinois, Jason Anderson and Tara Anderson, Bettendorf, Iowa, Tyler (Violetta) Koehler, East Moline, Illinois, Travis (Fuscia) Koehler, Davenport, Iowa, Nick Koehler and Nathan Koehler, both of Sherrard; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Kindschy, Greendale; and several nieces. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; parents, Herman and Etta; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Hertha Peterman.
