Pulaski 1, Slinger 0

Fourth seed Pulaski needed an overtime goal to bet eighth seed Slinger in the sectional semifinal game at Pulaski.

The teams traded momentum each half of regulation as the Red Raiders had the better of the play in the first half, and the Owls saw the better play in the second half. Neither team was able to break through as regulation ended 0-0. The game-winning goal came in the second overtime in the 98th minute. AJ Schenk found space just outside the 18 box and put a well-placed shot past Slinger goalkeeper Braden Collins.

Slinger’s Cole Gindt had a chance to tie it for Slinger in the final moments, but his attempt was saved by Red Raider goalie Blake Batzer.

Collins made one save in goal for Slinger. Batzer had seven saves in goal for Pulaski.

Pulaski moves on to face No. 2 seed Fox Valley Lutheran in the sectional final at 1 p.m. Oct. 31 at Kaukauna High School.
