Pulaski High School will present “Kiss Me Kate,” a comical musical involving a love triangle, gambling, gangsters and mistaken identities.
The musical features a show within a show, as the characters of “Kiss Me Kate” perform the Shakespearean play, “Taming of the Shrew,” during the musical.
Throughout the performance, a musical group including former husband and wife Fred (Matt Courchaine) and Lilli (Riley Bonnin) and complicated couple Bill Callahan (Devon Caelwaerts) and Lois Lane (Clara Peterson), are the performers of “Taming of the Shrew.”
The Pulaski High School production includes more than 50 students and is directed by Elissa Lucas. The pit band director is Val Spaulding, the choreographer is Melissa Welsing, and the tech director is Amy Tubbs.
“It’s a really fun musical, and the music is really great,” Lucas said. “The cast looks forward to show the community the drama and romantic comedy of ‘Kiss Me Kate.’”
The show will be performed at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 and 21 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 15 and 22 in the high school’s Ripley Performing Arts Center. Tickets are on sale in the Pulaski News office, 920-822-6800, at Pulaski High School, or at the door for $7.
