The Brazeau Fire Department on Aug. 9 received $900 from the Lee Lake Conservation Club.
Roy Lawrenz, president of the club, started the Greater Lee Lake Open 14 years ago to raise money for the fire department. The first year, 13 golfer participated; this year, 43 golfers took part. More than $8,400 has been raised over the past 14 years.
Parkway Golf Course hosted the event. Eve Wallace, Lawrenz’s daughter, was in charge of promotion, registration and tracking the events.
Businesses making donations were Accel Automotive, Burger King, Dick Lamberg, Marl Lake, Falls Family Restaurant, Heritage Auto Center, JH Fischer Transfer, Kelly Lake Kwik Stop, Klondike Bar, Ron & Kim’s Lee Lake Tavern, Mercier’s Fastop Shell, NEW Credit Union, Oconto Electric Co-op, Peshtigo National Bank, Peterson Ford, Salscheider’s Antique Bar, Sandy Corners Bar & Grill, Tom Vandenberg, Lee Lake, Viz’s Kelly Lake Bar and Witt’s Piggly Wiggly, Oconto Falls.
