Olson Dairy Farms to host 2025 Shawano County Brunch on the Farm

Looking for a fun-filled way to kick off summer with the whole family? Mark your calendar for June 22 and head to Olson Dairy Farms Inc., N9124 Butternut Road, Birnamwood, for the 2025 Shawano County Brunch on the Farm. From 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., enjoy a delicious country breakfast, explore a modern dairy farm and take part in a morning packed with family friendly activities. Hosted by the Shawano County Farm Bureau, this annual event is a local favorite and part of Wisconsin’s June Dairy Month celebration. Attendees will get an up-close look at farm life and dairy innovation while enjoying a relaxing, educational and entertaining morning on the farm. Guests will enjoy: • A country-style breakfast featuring scrambled eggs with ham, breakfast sausage, hash browns, cinnamon bread, cheese, yogurt and milk. • Guided farm tours, including a look at robotic milking technology. • Wagon rides, a petting zoo and children’s activities. • Ice cream sundaes. • Church service at 8 a.m. Olson Dairy Farms is owned and operated by Kurt Jr. and Krysta Olson, with help from their children — Carter, Luke, Evan and Reid. Retired second-generation owners Kurt and Cindy Olson remain an integral part of the farm’s history. The family milks 600 cows and manages 1,500 acres of cropland. In 2020, the farm underwent a major modernization, installing a 10-robot milking system to improve efficiency and work-life balance. The Olsons also have a calf barn equipped with three robotic calf feeders. “Brunch on the Farm is more than a meal; it’s a chance to connect with the people, animals and technology behind Wisconsin’s dairy industry,” said Christa Hoffman, Brunch on the Farm general chair. “We are proud to partner with Olson Dairy Farms to continue this educational and family-centered event.” Tickets are available for cash only onsite. Adults and children 12 and older cost $10, children 4-11 are $5 and children 3 and younger are free.
