Proceedings from June 20 A sentencing hearing was held for Robert J. Willis, 22, Green Bay, on charges of burglary of a building or dwelling as party to a crime May 8 and 9 and the attempted burglary of a building or dwelling as party to a crime May 12 in Lena. One count of burglary of a building or dwelling was dismissed, and a sentence of three years incarceration to run concurrent to jail time in Shawano County Jail withheld. Donald L. Tappa, 39, Oconto, pleaded not guilty to charges of arson of a building, two counts burglary and one count theft, which allegedly occurred Dec. 24 and 25 at the Log Jam Saloon in Oconto. A $100,000 cash bond continues. A status conference is Aug. 14. A preliminary hearing was held for Kyle K. Sydor, 25, Oconto, on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, second offense, injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle, and reckless driving causing bodily harm May 8 in Oconto. A cash bond of $10,000 continues. An arraignment is July 10. Proceedings from June 19 A preliminary hearing was held for Justin A. Grzybowski, 21, Lena, on charges of second degree sexual assault of a child under 16, which allegedly occurred May 17 in the town of Oconto. A $15,000 cash bond continues. An arraignment is June 26. An arraignment was held for Gabriel J. Kurek, 37, Lena. He pleaded not guilty to one misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and a felony charge of substantial battery with intentional bodily harm, domestic abuse, which allegedly occurred May 24 in the town of Lena. A $75,000 cash bond continues. A pretrial conference is Aug. 14. Proceedings from June 17 A status conference was held for Nancy Copeland, 56, Oconto. On June 4, she pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease to two misdemeanor charges and a felony charge of battery of a peace officer on May 4 in Oconto. The court is awaiting results from testing. A plea hearing is July 7. A status conference and plea hearing were held for Travis R. Pecha, 27, Oconto. On May 28 he pleaded not guilty to one misdemeanor charge and two felony charges of strangulation and suffocation, domestic abuse, which allegedly occurred April 12 in Pensaukee. Plea negotiations are under way. A presentence investigation was ordered, and sentencing is scheduled Aug 8. A $5,000 cash bond continues. Morning Star J. Skenandore, 32, Milwaukee, pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges and felony charges of possession of cocaine, second subsequent offense repeater, possession of THC, second subsequent offense repeater, possession of narcotic drugs, second subsequent offense repeater, which allegedly occurred May 8 in the town of Gillett. The court modified her $10,000 cash bond to $6,000. A pretrial conference is July 10. Proceedings from June 16 A status conference was held for Kelly P. Grybowski, 19, Lena, on a felony charge of intimidate victim/threaten force and a misdemeanor charge, which allegedly occurred May 17 in Oconto. A $5,000 cash bond continues. An arraignment is June 25. A waiver preliminary hearing was held for Anthony J. Bozek, 37, Gillett, on charges of physical abuse of a child-intentionally cause bodily harm, which allegedly occurred April 21 in the town of Gillett. A signature bond of $5,000 continues. James B. Nowak, 56, West Bend, was sentenced to three years of incarceration and three years of extended supervision on charges of operating while intoxicated fifth or sixth offense, which occurred Nov. 22 in Oconto Falls. Adam J. Charles, 44, Waupun, pleaded no contest to charges of medical assistance fraud, benefit rights and food stamp fraud, first offense, which occurred Oct. 1, 2012, to Aug. 31, 2013. The court sentenced him to incarceration for three years and extended supervision for three years and a total restitution of $9,950.02. A motion hearing and bond review was held for Leonardo Juarez, 45, Chicago, on one felony charge of false imprisonment and three misdemeanor charges, which allegedly occurred on April 29 in Oconto. A $10,000 cash bond continues. The date of a jury trial was not available.
