A sentencing hearing was held for Travis R. Pecha, 27, Oconto, on a misdemeanor charge and two felony charges of strangulation and suffocation, domestic abuse, which occurred April 12 in Pensaukee. The misdemeanor charge and one felony charge were dismissed. For the remaining felony charge, he was sentenced to 18 months incarceration and two years extended supervision, with the conditions to complete alcohol and other drug assessments, evaluations and treatments, obtain a certificate of general educational development (GED), gain full-time employment, have no contact with the victim and maintain absolute sobriety.

An initial appearance was held for Daniel J. Janus, 44, Green Bay, on a felony charge of operating while intoxicated (fifth or sixth offense) and a misdemeanor charge Aug. 4 in the town of Oconto. The court set a $3,500 cash bond. A continued initial appearance is Aug 14.

A bail bond hearing was held for Roy A. Oldenburg, 19, Oconto Falls, on two felony counts of exposing a child to harmful material June 15 and July 11, possession with intent to deliver THC and maintain a drug trafficking place July 16, and four misdemeanor charges, all in the city of Oconto Falls. The court amended the bond to add residence and curfew conditions. A $5,000 cash bond continues. A preliminary hearing is Aug. 13.
Keith A. Smet, 26, Oconto, was sentenced to one year incarceration and three years extended supervision on charges of repeated sexual assault of same child (at least three violations of first or second degree sexual assault) and cause child 13-18 to view sexual activity, June 13, 2013, through Sept. 30, 2013, in Oconto. Conditions of the extended supervision are to obtain full-time employment or schooling, maintain absolute sobriety, have no contact with the victim or family, have no contact with any female under 18 and undergo sexual offender treatments, assessments, evaluations and any follow-up treatments.
