Roger Piehl, 83, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021. Roger was born March 19, 1938, to the late Henry and Viola (Kriewaldt) Piehl in Shawano. In 1956, Roger graduated from Shawano High School. He went on to attend UW-River Falls, where he played football and earned his bachelor’s degree in teaching. On July 9, 1960, Roger was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Sally Moede, in Shawano.

Sharon A. Briske, 85, of Pella, passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano. Funeral arrangements are pending with Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Clintonville.

Steven A. “Ernie” Buettner, 59, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday morning, Aug. 19, 2021, of natural causes. Steve was born March 3, 1962, in Shawano, a son of Ernest and Vanice (Rades) Buettner. He attended St. James Lutheran School and graduated from Shawano High School with the Class of 1980. He then attended UW-Plattville.

Russell F. Adams, 96, of Clintonville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory in Clintonville is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Florence Mae (Phalen) Schmidt, 94, of Shawano, met her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, after a life full of love and family. She was born in Shawano on May 27, 1927, to the late John and Dagmar (Sorensen) Phalen. She attended Shawano High School and worked for years at Spurgeon’s creating the merchandise displays in the front window facing Main Street. Florence was united in marriage to Norman A.

Donald E. Hull, 88, of Wittenberg, passed away on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021. Don was born May 6, 1933, the son of Eldred and Mary (Harning) Hull. Don was a United States Army veteran, serving from March 1953 until March 1955 during the Korean War. He was a member of the Bloecher-Johnson American Legion Post 502 for over 66 years. On May 21, 1960, Don was united in marriage to Donna Lou Drews at St.
