Leon Kuhn

The legendary Willy Kuhn played his last gig on Earth, passing away on April 17, 2022, after a hard-fought battle. Always standing in the front row — his wife of 50 years, Cheryl; his children Kris (Katie), Leon (Denise) and Michelle; and his pride and joy, grandsons Dougie and Luka. Willy was born on Dec. 19, 1947, in Moline, Illinois, to Leon and Dorothy Kuhn.
Benjamin C. Deitz
Benjamin Caleb Deitz, of Hatley, entered the kingdom of heaven in the early hours of Easter morning, April 17, 2022, a day before his 28th birthday. Ben was the oldest of four boys born to John and Lori Deitz. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, was baptized into Christ at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, and lived in various parts of Illinois for the first few years of his life.
Rose Mary Prokash
Rose Mary Prokash passed away on Good Friday, April 15, 2022, in Shawano, on her 95th birthday. Our mother died peacefully in her own bed, surrounded by and being held by her loving family. She was able to hug, kiss and be kissed by each of her 10 children the day before she passed. Rose was born April 15, 1927, in Kewaunee County, daughter of Wenzel and Elizabeth Schlies, the eighth of her parents’ nine children.

Donald L. Dreier, age 85, of Shawano, passed away on Monday morning, April 18, 2022, in Shawano. Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano. Jeannie M. Carlstrom, nee Merhotlz, 74, of Appleton, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory in Clintonville is assisting the family.
Rita M. Moede
Rita M. Moede, 67, of Shawano, passed away in her home on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Rita was born in Shawano on Feb. 20, 1955, to the late Wilbert Paul “W.P.” and Dell (Bruetzmann) Buss. Rita graduated from Shawano High School. She was a wonderful baker and was well known for her delicious Christmas cookies which she generously shared with countless people in the community.
Kathleen Anderson
Kathleen Anderson, 76, of Gillett, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 29, 2021, at her home. Kathleen, the youngest of two children, was born June 8, 1945, in Milwaukee to Boleslaus “Curly” and Helen Zuber. Kathleen grew up in Milwaukee where she attended Catholic schools and graduated from high school. On June 6, 1964, she married the love of her life and best friend, Jerome Anderson.
