Victor W. “Vic” Ziemer, 86, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, 2013, at Evergreen Care Center in Shawano. Funeral service arrangements for Vic are pending and will be announced later. Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano is assisting the family with the service arrangements.

Stephanie A. Becker, 59, of Shawano, passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, in Appleton. Born on Aug. 31, 1953, in North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Carol (Hustad) Becker. She grew up with her family in Des Lacs, N.D., and graduated from Des Lacs High School in 1971. She also lived in Glenwood Springs, Colo. On Feb. 4, 1989, she was united in marriage to Neil Van Rossum in Green Bay.

A Pulaski man has been charged with his 11th drunken driving offense after being arrested Saturday in Cecil. Terrance L. Manthei, 47, could face a maximum possible penalty of 12½ years in prison and a $25,000 fine. State statutes also mandate a minimum sentence of four years if convicted. Shawano County sheriff’s deputies responding to a reckless driving complaint on state Highway 22 shortly before 2 a.m.

Two motorcycle accidents in Shawano County that seriously injured three people over the weekend were still under investigation Tuesday, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department. The first accident took place just before 6:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 45 at state Highway 52 in the town of Aniwa.

Shawano County Parks Manager Keith Marquardt’s request for more park staff during the fall months was trimmed Monday by the Administrative Committee. Marquardt had requested one of his summer employee positions be expanded to nine months because of the number of events and campers at Shawano Lake County Park in September and October.

Jamie Gen Kellogg, 22, Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013. Jamie was born Sept. 7, 1990, to Randall Kellogg Sr. and Amy (Cochenet) Knippenberg. She graduated from Gillett High School with the Class of 2009. Jamie was studying graphic design at College of Menominee Nation.
