Ron Schmidt has been a member of the Bonduel Lions Club for 25 years. His late father, Dennis Schmidt, was a member, and his great-grandfather, Lawrenz Ebert and grandfather, Lyman Ebert, were charter members in 1951. Schmidt was born and raised in Bonduel, graduating from Bonduel High School. He earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in business administration with a minor in economics.

James Leo Lieg, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away on Dec. 2, 2014. He was 70 years old. James was born on April 28, 1944 to Leo and Betty Lieg in Shawano. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He also worked at the University of Texas Medical Branch on Galveston Island as a nuclear medicine tech for almost 30 years.
