Shawano Water and Sewer Utility residential customers will soon pay 13 percent, or about $2.85 per month, more for water, according to an order issued Monday by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. The Shawano Community High School boys basketball team will spend the first day of the WIAA Division 2 state playoffs watching film and practicing, thanks to the No. 1 seed the Hawks drew in their sectional bracket. Shawano (16-5) will play at 7 p.m. March 6, hosting the winner of the Tuesday feed-in game between Waupaca (6-15) and New London (5-16).

Walter “Fuzz” Schaal, 77, Stiles, died suddenly Monday evening, Feb. 16, 2015, at St. Clare Memorial Hospital. He was born April 15, 1937, in Oconto Falls to Chester and Beatrice (Spice) Schaal. Fuzz attended Oconto Falls public schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1957. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-1965 and was stationed in Germany. On July 11, 1980, he married Susan Potasnik in Marinette.

Olga Kopatz, 98, of Pound, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at Woodland Village Nursing Home in Suring. She was born in Oconto Falls on April 15, 1916, to the late William and Martha (Jevorutsky) Pusich. Olga Pusich married Emil Kopatz on June 16, 1934.
