Michelle Marie Kallin, 58, of the town of Red Springs, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at her home. Michelle was born July 30, 1956, in Shawano, a daughter of William and Marion (Knoke) Moede. She attended the Neenah schools. On Dec. 6, 1974, she was united in marriage to Ken Kallin in Neenah. Following their marriage the couple lived in Menasha until 1977, when they moved to the Gresham area.

Mary F. (DeBruyne) Barton, 94, of Shawano, formerly of Chicago, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015, in Shawano. She was born on Aug. 5, 1920, in Chicago. Mary loved to dance and met her future husband, Bernard J. Barton, at the Aragon Ballroom. They were united in marriage on May 5, 1951, in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1988. She was a wonderful woman with a great laugh. She was never angered or raised her voice.

Jean Ellen Koth, 85, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015, in Shawano. Jean was born on Sept. 7, 1929, in Tomahawk. She was a graduate of Tomahawk High School. On Sept. 4, 1948, Jean was united in marriage to Oscar E. Koth. The couple relocated often due to Oscar being in the military for 20 years before they returned to Tomahawk and then moved to Shawano in 1970.

Larry Lee Schroeder, 68, of Milton, died at his home on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. He was born on April 7, 1946, in Shawano, the son of Marvin and Virginia (Wruck) Schroeder. Larry would marry Candace deVeau on June 4, 1966, in Whitewater. Larry owned his own CPA business in Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows, Illinois, for 25 years after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

There was guarded optimism at Gresham Community High School over the prospects of the softball team enjoying an improved season from a year ago. It took all of one game for the Wildcats to make that goal a reality and to validate coach Amanda Reindl’s belief that, while conference and postseason titles may not be in the immediate offing for Gresham, this will be a decidedly more fun year.
