Gillett senior Alex Zeitler earned the Outstanding Wrestler award at Saturday’s Kewaunee Invitational as the Gillett/Suring wrestling team finished in second place. Rebounding gives Suring fighting chance
The Bonduel Bears had a distinct size advantage over the Suring girls basketball team Monday night. Pulaski man arrested in hit-and-run
A Pulaski man has been arrested in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian, struck while walking along County S just west of Sobieski Monday night. The body of George Birr, 51, was found in the ditch at about 7:43 a.m. Tuesday and authorities believe he was hit between 8 and 10 p.m.

Police might have suspect in purse-snatchings
Shawano police say they have a possible suspect in a pair of purse-snatchings this week that targeted elderly drivers, but the incidents are under investigation. Duo sentenced in home invasion
Two men convicted of coming to Wittenberg in February with an arsenal packed in their vehicle to kidnap a relative were sentenced Thursday in Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court. Paul M. Neuman, 60, of Stacy, Minnesota, was sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison and 10 years’ extended supervision on felony counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and threatening force to intimidating a witness.
