Shawano skaters lose twice in Antigo
Antigo’s hockey team, which includes players from Wittenberg-Birnamwood, defeated Shawano/Bonduel 3-1 Dec. 28, the second day of a tournament in Antigo. The first two goals scored came in the second period. First, Owen Dickman scored at 7:57 with an assist from Eli Kassler.

Man charged with nearly 80 gun-related charges
A Birnamwood man has been charged with 79 felonies after a search warrant at his home resulted in the seizure of a cache of long guns and handguns, many of them manufactured without serial numbers. Kyle J. Matsche, 34, faces 71 counts of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, seven counts of selling or possessing a firearm silencer, and one count of possession of narcotic drugs.

On Dec. 27, 2023, we lost our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Paul Dale Dibley was a man of faith, family and community. Paul was born on Aug. 16, 1950, in Milwaukee to the late Chester and Elizabeth (Purdy) Dibley. His brother, John, was born a couple years later, completing their little family. They were raised with a strong love for God and the Catholic faith, attending Catholic grade and high schools.

Angotti-Baum hired as WFBF District 7 coordinator
Danielle Angotti-Baum has been hired by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation as the district coordinator in northeastern Wisconsin. Angotti-Baum will be responsible for working with county farm bureaus to develop and implement programs to serve Farm Bureau members and to coordinate membership recruitment and retention efforts. “I am looking forward to building relationships with the Farm Bureau members in northeast Wisconsin,” said Angotti-Baum.
