National Weather Service declares hazardous weather outlook for area

Severe weather is back in the forecast for north-central and northeast Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service office in Green Bay has issued a winter storm warning is in effect for Oconto County from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 2.

Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total sleet accumulations up to 1 inch and ice accumulations between one-tenth and three-tenths of an inch.

Marion, Witt-Birn softball teams win in shutouts

An 11-run third inning sealed the deal for Marion’s softball team, as the Mustangs shut out Bowler/Gresham 23-0 in four innings.

Marion also scored three runs in each of the first two innings and six in the fourth.

School board faces the music on budget reductions

The Shawano School Board received some backlash March 23 to its decision four weeks earlier to reduce staff to balance next year’s budget, hearing concerns that music programs and other things could be hurt as a result.

Students will perform “Among Friends and Clutter” by Lindsay Price on April 9-11 in the high school auditorium.
