The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced it will conduct a full drawdown on two flowages at Navarino Wildlife Area: Hanson Flowage and 80 Acre Flowage. The drawdowns will begin this spring, and water levels will be lowered slowly until full drawdown is achieved in mid-May. The drop in water levels is necessary to prepare the sites for upcoming construction and repairs scheduled for the summer of 2024.

Emil Pecanas, 72, of Mountain, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024. Emil was born on March 21, 1952, to the late Emil and Sara (Corso) Pecanas. He graduated from Menomonee Falls High School. In 1972, Emil married Mary Brynjulfson. Emil began his working career as a laborer and then became a mason. He was well known for his masonry skills amongst his coworkers and friends. Emil loved gambling and fishing.
