While dropping the season opener to the Philadelphia Eagles was not the ideal start for Green Bay, learning that the team may be without Jordan Love for the next six games may be worse. Down five points and marching down the field, Love was hit high and low before falling to the ground in pain with an apparent leg injury. Upon returning to Wisconsin, Love was diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee.

With Labor Day in the rear-view mirror, regular hours have resumed at the Shawano County Courthouse, 311 N. Main St. Regular hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The courthouse will be closed the morning of Sept. 13 for staff training. Offices will open at noon. The courthouse will also be closed Nov. 28-29 for Thanksgiving and Dec. 24-25 for Christmas.

Ardella F. Weisnicht, 88, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024. She was born on Sept. 1, 1935, in the Town of Angelica, daughter of the late Hilbert and Elsie (Sokja) Kroening. Ardella’s mother passed away when she was 18 months old, and she was raised by her Aunt Emma (Hoppe) Kuhn in Shawano.
