Milk production in Wisconsin during August totaled 2.67 billion pounds, down 2% from the previous August, according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service Milk Production report. The average number of milk cows during August, at 1.27 million head, was 2,000 below the previous month and down 3,000 from August 2023.

Anton (Tony) William Boehm, 60, of Maplewood, Minnesota, passed away from glioblastoma on Sept. 20, 2024, at The Pillars Hospice, Oakdale, Minnesota. A 1982 graduate of Shawano High School, he was elected sophomore class president and went on to take classes at the University of Wisconsin.

Alfonso L. Zaddack, 84, of Shawano, passed away on Sept. 26, 2024, at his home with his loving wife by his side. Alfonso was born June 3, 1940, in Shawano, the son of the late Alfred and Alice (Buettner) Zaddack. He attended Gresham High School and graduated with the class of 1959. Betty Ruth Walker, 93, of Birnamwood, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at Eastview Nursing Home in Antigo. Betty was born on Oct. 19, 1930, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Rudolph and Adeline (Falaas) Fischer. Betty married Peter Frank Ridosko in 1951. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1977. Later in life, she married Thomas Ray Walker, who also preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2003. Betty raised three children on her own.
